pregnant with reluctant emotions
like little loaded illegitimate children
shameful
unwanted
“Be not seen nor heard!”
– yet they rise up from within me
ballooning belly bursts in my mouth
they fall out wrong and hard
like little sins they fall
placenta staining every good intention declared dead at the visceral birth
twin eyes look upwards
away from the confronting messy mess
like little sins they fall
bearing hollow cries and dead weight
“hear me! see me”
twin eyes cast downwards
“Go talk to a professional
I don’t have time for this!”
I’m a music educator of cello and piano, and orchestra and rock band director at school. A firm believer that modern day living leaves us emotionally detached from ourselves and others, I am constantly pursuing every emotion with the sole purpose of experiencing the feeling. I also believe this is not my first life, but it is my last.
