I remember it all
the fall
where I lost my wings
against a shallow soul
I learned to walk
amongst muddy hearts
not sturdy enough
to hold mine
I took the roots
I still bared
within pads of my feet
I learned to walk slowly
within the will
of my own strength
to water daily
a garden within myself
