I Worry About These Things
written by: hedgehog
All over this world you see them
Smart suits, tanned skin, briefcase in hand
Smiling gently as they enter their domain
Why do I worry as they plan their day?
I worry about the world they’ve created
Wars created on lies and false promises
Bullets and bombs killing indiscriminately
Hills and forests, towns and cities splintered
By plane and missiles indiscriminate aim
Children, wide-eyed, pot-bellied as they starve
Surrounded by destruction, murder, rape
Innocent, but tear-gassed and clubbed to death
For daring to want a better life without conflict
Smoke rising from the car bombs and body belts
That explode without warning, blood on the walls
Flesh and bone ripped from their bodies
Created by these vultures sitting in their bunkers
They preach freedom; but maiming and torture
Produces more profit for the guns they sell
As they work their evil: I worry about these things
