Just So You Know

written by: Caroline Evari

Just so you know
To get here
I worked so hard
Sacrificed a lot
Kept myself indoors
Day and night
Just so you know
To get here
I said “no” a lot
Ignored the kids in the neighborhood
The loud and noisy
They mocked me as anti-social
Just so you know
To get here
I spent most of my time doing things that matter to me
Reading, writing
Cooking, cleaning
Helping out with chores
Baby sitting
Just so you know
To get what you want
Make the right choices
Do the right thing
Learn to say “no”
Adapt to the critics
Just so you know
To get what you want
Fight for it
Sweat for it
Work hard for it
Build your confidence
Take courage
Just so you know
To get what you want
Eradicate pests in your life
Your friends
Your bad habits
Your fears
Your negative thoughts
overcome each and every one of them
Just so you know
You can be anything you want
Follow the rules above
