Left Without a Cue

Left Without a Cue

written by: Berrin Yakar

When I saw it, I called rushing through
My heart pounding in my bones
Asking baby, is it true?

A proud voice bit through me
Saying I’m not your baby, anywho.

It’s been 2 years
What were you expecting to see?
Times have changed
Perhaps a happy life awaits you
Find someone like I did too.

My furious screams can bother you
Don’t piss your new beloved; better rush
Say what you have to say
All at once.

Sultry drips caught my mouth
All those separate nights,
Even when I lay alone
I felt your breath
A bond such true.
But different lives have shown to you
I guess they never gave me the cue.
