Love Conquers All

Love Conquers All

He says my heart is made of pure gold.
I explain, the love he has for me is real.
The darkness seems to have been exiled.
Yet there’s still blackness – stories untold.

With his glance, he says I’m gorgeous.
I explain the beauty is skin deep.
A past I reap.
Inside are demons, I don’t want him to see.

With his kiss, he says I taste of honey.
I explain upon our meet his intentions were sincere.
His love has turned my bitterness sweet.
This feat is rare.
