Just “One Word” Away (“Cats”)

One word becomes one idea, becomes one sentence, becomes one poem, becomes one story. It must start from just “one word”. Today my one word is “Cats”.

CATS

Whether they are family pets, lonesome strays or backyard visitors, “Cats” are surely magical and mysterious. They are beautiful to look at and soft to caress. They are independent creatures with minds of their own; but rest assured, when they seek the company of a loving human, it will be a match made in heaven – On the Feline’s terms of course. Just be ready, your new best friend will enchant you.

CATS

Feline delights of purr-fect flair
Escape artists if you dare
The beauty in their eyes, pure and rare
Standoffish strut, so unaware

Many lives they do possess
A Regal Earl or Fair Countess
Hair as coarse as the Beast’s tress
Or full and grand as the Lioness

Some feeble, some youthful all are they
Whimpering, meowing along the way
Mysteriously purring, so much to say
Humans entranced night and day

Colorful coats of flawless style
Green-grey-amber eyes, and hidden smile
They charm and enchant; so versatile
Perhaps rest in a lap for a wondrous while

… “Cats”, so sly and often sweet
Loners, lovers; quite discreet
Crafty, cunning, and wild to meet
To capture their hearts is quite the treat

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:

Sometimes the company of friends and family just won’t cut it. Time to share a moment with a magical, mysterious feline.
