Just “One Word” Away (“Circle”)

One word becomes one idea, becomes one sentence, becomes one poem, becomes one story. It must start from just “one word”. Today my one word is “Circle”.

CIRCLE

A circle is never ending, and is a gift of life. If we can surround ourselves with many circles, we will be blessed for eternity. Circles can be broken by outside forces; yet they were never meant to be broken. When you find your circles throughout your life – keep them whole, love and protect them, nurture them, respect them; because they were meant to go on forever. They were meant to be a part of you.

CIRCLE

The endless Circle of Life
‘Twas meant to go on forever
Within that huge grand Circle
Are many rings; quite clever

There is the Circle of Love
The Circle of Truth
The Circle of Friendship
The Circle of Youth
There is the Band of Gold;
The Wedding Ring
There is the Circle of Old;
Where Wise Men sing
There is the Ring of Fire
‘Round the Circle of Time
Where hearts come to life
Some sad, some sublime

It all comes ‘round like the Carousel
Where secrets rise and secrets dwell
There is the Circle of Evil
And the Circle of God
Where Heaven is even
And Hell is quite odd

The Circle of Children teaches of innocence
Adults strive to spread its peace and benevolence
Cherish your Circles
The good and the bad
For life promises nothing
Except “Happy” and “Sad”

We all have our Circles
As different as they are
Embrace each one of them
Hold them close, never far
They will bring you comfort
They will bring you joy
Even dark Circles
are meant to enjoy
It’s all about the journey –
Engage, don’t be coy

From the day we are born
Until the end of our time
One Circle after another
All perfect, all divine

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:

There are many Circles to our lives. Each one unique in its own right. Some we possess, some we dream about, some we yearn for, some we love, some we dislike. Regardless, we must embrace each circle that comes our way, since we cannot stop them, as they go on forever. Protect your circles, keep them whole, try not to break them – and allow no one from the outside to enter your life and break your circles. Our circles are part of who we are as individuals – Combined, they define the “human spirit”.
