Planet Earth… Closed For Repairs

An eerie sign said
Planet earth
Closed for repairs!
Yesterday’s cacophony,
Not a blasphemy,
Was silenced!
A virus
Like a rash had spread
Across
Continents,
Regardless of race
Or creed.
While technology
And sociology
Had led the world
Astray,
Something, somewhere
Put a lock down on
The restless souls.
Forced in isolation
To look within,
Pray
And hope
For survival!
A spring cleaning
Of sorts
A wake up call
Sit up and
Notice
The writing on the wall!
Till then a lock-down
He has decreed
Look inward,
In silence
And quell
The cacophony
Within.

Vidya Venkataramanan is a homemaker whose dual passions are writing and exploring the finer nuances of self-realisation through philosophy and spirituality.
