Power Politics

written by: Jose A. Tovar

Unsatisfying political greed,
hunger that grows
like a spreading fungus
underneath the soil,
a cancer that replicates
within the subculture of society—
all of it unnoticed
but dangerously real
in the fabric
of our mechanical routine.
The gears of power
keep on turning,
turning to plunder us
into submission.
