Precious Paws of Hope

I gaze in your eyes, your soul is broken
I nudge your hand touching you with my cold wet nose
We need to walk, I’m by your side, one foot, one paw together, following the path of hope
Unconditional love and support, I’ll pull you up when you’re down, I lay by your side when your mind is clouded and your body aches
We need to walk, I’m by your side, one foot, one paw together, following the path of hope
Come rain, sun, wind, frost, or snow, we shall cherish the moment, reflect on happy pasts, and mourn our losses
But you have me, and my paws and I have you and your feet.
Inseparable, loyal and loving
We walk together, following the path of hope.
Stephen has had a love of writing and poetry from an early age, influenced by his travels. Now he is focused on several key areas, mental health and bereavement, Scottish history and landscapes and social outcomes. He lives in a small town called Buckie in the Northeast of Scotland. He hopes one day to publish a poetry anthology charting his own mental health from its lowest point, through recovery on to living a happy and healthy lifestyle, in order to help other who maybe suffering in silence.
