Shortest Day

Shortest Day

everlight glows
molten amber spilling
over mauve horizon
pulses like liquid metal
sheds no heat in frigid air
erupts, shatters the long night
splits reality between stones
banishes dark, illuminates
blue vale momentarily
before sinking once more;
shortest day
