In a tiny smoke-filled pub, I met her.
her name, I remember not
but I remember she asked me
Do you mind if I smoke?
I fell for her when she
blew out a puff of smoke ring
impeccably,
like a spring breeze
rippled the water
she sat at the bar alone
with a defiant attitude
lit up another cigarette
I felt slightly tipsy on my second shot
talk, wine, man, woman, bartender …
the smoke got in my eyes
unaware of her goodbye
