That One Big Break

I’m always looking for my one big break
The moment when I’m told, “Your writing is great!”
They’ll make me an offer I cannot refuse,
And I’ll gratefully accept it, coz I need some new shoes.
My bills will get paid, my car will run,
I’ll have mannies and peddies it’ll be so much fun!
I’ll dine out at night, I’ll take a taxi there,
And I’ll look really glam, while I twiddle my hair.
I’ll answer the questions, I’m bound to be asked,
Like, what was the muse for what you wrote last?
Need was my fuel, is what I shall say,
To release all these words and just let them play.
Life is my subject and all the things that you think,
Then I’ll leave it right there with an all-knowing wink.
So, come on world, I have memories to make,
Pleeeeease will you send me my one big break!
