The Acupuncturist

written by: Ryan Quinn Flanagan

The acupuncturist
kept poking holes in the ceiling
of his apartment
telling the peeling popcorn sky
that it would feel rejuvenated
20 years younger

while his wife
ran a bath upstairs
with candles

in the
dark

wondering
why her husband
had needed the auger
from under the
sink

in the first
place.
