The Morning

The fog clings to the treetops this morning
The air is quiet and cooled by the dew
The birds start to sing and fly forewarning
The grass sways where it never before grew
Beaded by dew awakens the old shrew
The kingdom of nature alive again
The forest sings songs to start time anew
Flowers blossom with no need to explain
Forest floor damp as if it had seen rain
The sunlight now pierces through the treetops
The pond water rippled by the sleek crane
Seagulls enjoy the field’s leftover crops
The morning smell along with a scent of fresh cut hay
Nothing is more beautiful than today
