The True Value of Innocence

When these vessels return to purity
having spent time in this world of deceit,
and spurned for sweet love and kind charity,
false promises of wealth that’s counterfeit.

Then we shall with eyes of innocence see
love contained in every beautiful soul,
the world may preach war, lust, pride, and vanity,
in heaven, love is valued more than gold.

Each soul will shine with love’s eternal light,
No Bishan, Eve, Maryam, or Rachel mourn
to evil wars the loss of a brother, or son,
in heaven, heroes rise over life’s plight.

In purity, there’s but one deity,
Untainted Love is the soul’s only faith,
no laws exist of inequality,
each soul shines as in Love’s light it bathes.

Empty yourself of your crafty accords,
let the peace of God be your only thought,
do good to all, set aside wickedness,
for pure innocent love gains great reward.

Charlie Bottle's passion is poetry. He has lived on three continents, speaks five languages and loves different cultures, people, music and food. He believes that "Poetry uses the economy of words to express the essence of our humanity." It is this magical use of brevity to express the profound that drew him to poetry. While his professional and personal life has pulled him in different directions, He continues in his discipleship of the craft and writes whenever the muse moves him. While English is his second language it is the language in which he lives, breathes, thinks and writes poetry.
