We Should Rehearse
written by: Sergio A. Ortiz
@Saore
Before the day we go blind.
Learn to read with our fingers
the scars on each other’s arms.
Unscrew for a couple of weeks
the bulb in our bedroom
and read in the dark.
With death comes blindness.
Charon won’t accept fear
as payment to cross Styx.
It’s not the sky granting
us flight. It’s not fire
that drowns us.
It’s the fall into light.
