What’s a Poem?

I take this scalpel, scoring into the crevices of my every experience;
Dissecting moonlight dalliances;
Prying away scar tissue, reaching into treacherous tenebrosity.
On Ocean bed, I glide blade with strokes;
interrupting deathly slumber of submerged shipwrecks.
Juxtapositions expose and begin voyage toward shore;
hazardous materials, desperately pendulous, requiring organisation.
I gracefully slice with the drug of choice;
offering deliverance to the toxicity that might otherwise dwell in the deep.

I'm very much an amateur writer but writing is the fuel to my inner engine. I'm working harder than ever now to begin really perfecting and crafting my writing and getting serious about becoming published. I'm passionate about mental health and healthy expression through language, so much of my work comes from that place.
