The Freezing Touch

The Freezing Touch

written by: Zeynep Şimşek

Too desperate to cry
Just pull me in your arms
Let death’s whisper
To my very bare skin
Let the freezing touch
Lick me on the cheek
There’s no shiver at all
As I straightened my back
It’s a gloom
That you didn’t take me tonight.
Don’t push me away to a world
A world that I don’t wanna live in
Life slipped through my palms
What’s the point to live or to die
If you’re just going to be a pawn.
Why my every move is not free?
What is the distraction to abandon me?
What’s the point to live or to die
If you’re just going to be a pawn.
When you can not step back
From any decision, not you,
but they made
What’s the point to live or to die
I ask the child
When she first opened her eyes
I am at the graveyard
Looking for a mate from the other side
There’s nothing but an icy vibe
Then I cry out loud
What’s the point to live or to die?
When you look back on life
If there’s no such relief
What about your heart’s desire?
As you met your eyes with me
I ask what it was like
You sighed.
“What’s the point to live or to die?”
