Shakespeare and Eliot

Shakespeare and Eliot

written by: LB Sedlacek

Bassanio told Portia
she had bereft
him of words
while Katharina declared
a woman moved
was bereft of
beauty troubled, muddy
George Eliot believed
she was the
original user of
certain words in
her letters and
her contemporaries gave
her the credit
we all lack
something we want
foolishly believing humans
improve the world.
