Just around the corner, a huge boulder stands imperious,
like the impaired pride of an ancient realm.
A reddish brown subterranean cave forms underneath,
where the ocean rinses pebbles and grit
devouring the substrata like a hungry beast.

The crystal clear water, blue and white, mixed with earthy tint,
splashes with force, like a smack on your lips.
The sun still shines above this bizarre scene,
but inside the little gulf the shadows gallop free.
So whisks the self-glorification of the foolish neat
for all they see is praise and appeal, but what lurks
is what chops and trim, the silent patient sea…
