A Butterfly’s Flutter

A Butterfly’s Flutter

written by: Dr. Aparna Ajith

I felt a new life sprouting within me,
filling my fading dawns like a honeybee.
I can quite surmise
a nascent surprise.
Your twitching keeps me alive,
Yearning for my little love to arrive.
I feel your muted love in the flapping,
craving for your entry in a snowy wrapping.
I linger in your butterfly tickles,
Your zigzags stir my trickles.
When I feel a ‘gulu gulu’ in my belly,
It’s my ‘golu molu’ moving around like a jelly.
You nestle in my heart’s rhythm,
My epiphany for you has no algorithm.
My winter craves for your love’s spring,
My endless heart rhymes are set to sing.
My feelings ratify their connections with you,
annexing my sweet and sour cadences within you.
Counting down days for my fluttering butterfly
to stretch the tender wings and soar high!
