Brick or Rock

Brick or Rock

written by: JOHN BAVERSTOCK

Be a brick,
Or be a rock,
Sometimes tremble,
In body shock,
Disillusioned,
About whom you may be,
Struggling to find,
Your true identity,
Tormented,
Trapped inside a mind,
Never a moment,
To press unwind,
Helping everyone,
Except yourself,
Fearing being left,
Unwanted,
On a shelf,
Barely you have,
A second to spare,
Stop for five minutes,
If you dare,
Harassed,
Stressed
Though you never realise,
You wearing,
A super hero disguise,
Staying strong,
Going the distance,
Feeling mortal,
In your existence,
Sturdy brick,
In a sturdy wall,
Yet rocks do crumble,
And rocks do fall.
