Chess

written by: Dr. K. K. Matthew

Put opponent’s king under direct attack
From which escape is impossible, the aim
Of a board game of strategic skill, between
Two players which measures the quickness
Of using intelligence with the output of the
Sense of farsightedness, with the grasping
Power of absorbing the awareness of future
And with exercise of sharpening the brain
It pays off the immaculate concentration
For the imminent reflex reaction, and it‘s
Reflected on the chess board with smooth
Sailing, and with unique calculation, with a
Perfect perception and a divine deliverance
That heaven and world work together and
The passage of quickness of fingers coupled
With the incessant flow of intelligence to end
With the crown of glory and pride of the heart.
