Endless
written by: Bonnie Currie
White horses gallop towards the shore
Their watery bodies exhale and sprawl
Salt-kissed sand beneath Neptune’s blanket
Memories washed and swept away
Forlorn ballads fill the air
To swoop and skim the perpetual tide
Glistening anew on grains of time
The hourglass spun by mortal mind
Breathe deeply but no slumber here
Rolling waves embrace tumbling clouds
Entwined as lovers never separated by
The endless sea and eternal sky.
I live in Norfolk England surrounded by forest and farmland although only six miles from the nearest town. I am a carer for my disabled husband as well as mother to an adult son and two grown up granddaughter's. I have been writing stories and poetry since I was a child. I have only recently started to showcase my jottings to a wider audience, enjoying writing micro fiction and flash fiction stories for entry into a few competitions with some success. My inspiration comes from my love of the natural world, also from life experience and the many varied people and lifestyles I've come across along the way. I am a member of a small local writers group who meet regular to discuss the stories we have written set to a theme that had been chosen at the previous meetings. I also have interest in all things spiritual.
