Gift of Life

Gutless scared I turn my head away
Cleaned and sterile stained I fearful lay my arm
Givers of care in robes of white watch over as we lay
Then she squeezes as I feel the needle stick
My life’s offering begins to flow for another perhaps today?
A bag of life I’d made by merely waking
Secret one accept my feeble hand up if you have a say
Drink of this my cup of salty potion frail
Look again upon the mirror we share of our humanity.
