NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:

Illustration description: A dark background with what looks like blood coloured rust on the top and bottom edges reaching unevenly into the image.  The haiku sits near the bottom edge and is centered in a wavey, white Caflisch Script Pro Bold font outlined in black.  There are three figures standing between the background and the haiku.  On the left, a figure all in stark black and white, long, curly, black hair in a ponytail, wearing a horizontal striped tank top, platform shoes, and black capris leggings blending in with the background.  They seem to be painting, easel with canvas in front of them, brush in one hand, palette in the other.  The central figure seems to be more in the foreground, larger, and only visible from the waist up.  They also have long black hair, and with the line of a goatee visible on the side of their face.  They’re wearing a long, black coat, and have their arms stretched out to either side, head turned to the right-hand side of the image.  The arm gesture makes it look as if they are stretching the upside down unicorn skeleton, which seems to be superimposed in front of them, warping it so that the ribs spread across the figure’s shoulders.  Finally, on the right stands a third figure with long black hair, this one in a floor-length gown and corset laced up the back.  Their skin has a ghostly, bluish sheen, as does their dress.  They face a wall of fiery colour, the only warm hues aside from the bloody residue on the top and bottom of the picture.
