little boy blues

written by: MR.QUIPTY

slight twitch to the grin
and slouch into skateboard

a pallor that matched his thin
body, as loose as a cord,

wandering along I halt
at his polite request to chat

"can I ask you " faltering
"weird thing" touched hat

nodding to encourage more words
I am fascinated by youth in a corpse

"can you help" tone discord
score diazepam" more discourse

"I am an epileptic and have
lost my meds" . I shake my head

and point into the space above
where green cross lights his threads

crack of the quip

I have poetry and stories in "Not Enough To Quit" by Modern Writers published by ATLA Publishing, and a children's poem in "Un-Turn This Stone: short stories for children" by Aviva Treger et al.
