Mask Theater

Mask Theater

written by: Katarzyna Dominik

translated by: Thaddeus Hutyra

A human is an actor
with theater’s masks on
a hamlet character
– empty auditorium, boring play

He is sometimes hero of many roles
an insignificant episode
a poor scene
a trivial matter
the subject of gossip

Name in capital letters on the poster
people treat like the Gustaw Prize

It is rather poor advertising
literary trash of a scribbler
slipshod work of stage manager
bad joke with no prospects for comedy

A few goofy skits
unreadable facial movements
lack of prologue
cloudy action
dull ending

The curtain dropped
and the spotlights went out
deaf silence without ovation
time for criticism
the shot of poisoned talentlessness

Honor, however, does not allow
to hide one’s head in the sand
one act
is not a spectacle
the show must go on

Teatr Masek

written by: Katarzyna Dominik

Człowiek to aktor teatru masek
hamletowska postać
produkcyjniak – pusta widownia, nudna sztuka

Bywa bohaterem wielu ról
nieznaczącym epizodem
lichą sceną
krótką kwestią
tematem plotek

Nazwisko zapisane wielkimi literami na afiszu
ludzie traktują jak Nagrodę Gustawa

Reklama to raczej marna
ramota gryzipiórka chałtura reżysera
kiepski żart bez widoków na komedię

Kilka głupkowatych skeczów
nieczytelnych ruchów twarzy
brak prologu
mętna akcja
nieciekawy koniec

Kurtyna opadła zgasły jupitery
głucha cisza bez owacji
czas krytyki strzał zatrutych beztalencia

Honor jednak nie pozwala
chować głowy w piasek
jeden akt
to nie spektakl
przedstawienie musi trwać
