More than Man

More than Man

written by: Madeline St.Martin

I yearn to crawl out of my skin,
To become more than man.

I want to lurk in the darkest corners
And stand directly in the sun.
I want to whisper to tortured souls and to scream to men in pressed suits.
I want to see every sunset and read every book.

I crave connection in a way beyond human comprehension.
To be fused to the earth itself,
To rise with the sun and bask in the moonlight.
I need to hear every laugh and shake every hand.
I need to shed this flesh and become eternal.
Like the stars suspended in the sky
And the tides on the beach.
The rocks underfoot and the gentle breeze.

I need to span eons,
To outlive life itself.
I must birth every child and love every man,
I must live forever for my mind knows no bounds.
