On a Lawn of Deeds

On a Lawn of Deeds

written by: Preethi Saravanakumar

On a lawn of deeds,
grew bright wild flowers;
orange, yellow and red.

I gladly let them adorn me!
Fine fragrances filtered froth,
but the rich colors did bleed.

On a lawn of deeds,
grew bright wild flowers;
orange, yellow and red.

I watered them, fed and trimmed.
They spread across wildly wide,
Did I notice the depth of embed?

On a lawn of deeds,
grew bright wild flowers;
orange, yellow and red.

Red petals carried hidden wrath
of satin-like naive negligence-
my slippery thoughts unraveled…

On a lawn of deeds,
grew bright wild flowers;
orange, yellow and red.

Yellow petals brought memories
through the times that I’ve loved,
laughed or consciously lived.

On a lawn of deeds,
grew bright wild flowers;
orange, yellow and red.

Orange petals mysteriously
triggered joy, wrapped inside
was a tinge of guilt and pride.

On a lawn of deeds,
grew bright wild flowers;
orange, yellow and red.
