Red-Eyes

I rise from the wordless sea…
Oh, but I hate water…
I leap up, into the sky!
Perhaps today, I’ll be a small, white swan,
But my cobwebbed fins can’t fly…
I take a blue crayon and draw in some waves…
Then I wait for a shipwreck…
The sky! There it is again!
It mocks my ocean blue…
Should I draw some waves up there too,
By the dainty little clouds?
Aah…someone’s fishing net…
Oh, I stole that last week!
Should I cast it upon the sun,
Paint this world bleak, then none?
If only I could erase a line here and there…
You know, they say
“You could be really pretty
If you weren’t Misery…”
