Rivers of Gold

Fading embers still remember the fire,
                 & I remember
                        soft summer air
& the thought of wildflowers,

when your serene,
                  iridescent green eyes
                         first smiled at me:

when first I found serenity
                  in those rivers of gold,
                         cascading down your shoulders...
