Suffer the Little Children to Come Unto Me

Suffer the Little Children to Come Unto Me

written by: Julia Townson

Somewhere a child suffers in silence
as his naturally inquisitive, curious nature
is stifled.
By those who see the seeking of answers
as a form of rebellion.
Curiosity killed the cat – so they say.
But I believe otherwise.
I believe it was transformed from a meek little kitten
into a beautiful lioness.
Standing bold.
Strong and proud.
Because with knowledge comes power.
And that is what they fear the most.
So come to me, my child, with your questions
And I will give you answers freely.
So that you may not be doomed to live
In a dystopian world full of
ignorance, inequality, and oppression.
