The Fourth Estate

written by: Anne G

The Fourth Estate

the public press

an oxymoron

all but dead

The jig is up

the truth revealed

bastion of freedom

has not prevailed

Inciters of discourse

hyperbole feigned

peddlers of pretense

exaggeration and guise

Words laced with arsenic

designed to destroy

skillfully plied

cunning and lies

Why write?

I write because I am:

Driven to distraction by the inequities of the society in which we live.
Motivated by cruelty, abuse, ignorance and indifference.

My intention:To poke, prod and provoke!

"Moderation is a fatal thing. Nothing succeeds like excess." - Oscar Wilde
