The Frosted Eye
written by: Robin McNamara

Your frosted eye lingered
Upon a candle extinguished
Cold cold breath
The memories of us repressed
a long ago death
Like winters trees undressed
Your frosted breath lingered
On the window pane
You enhanced the sorrow
Of our time long forgotten
you promised a false tomorrow
The hymns of our love begotten
Your frosted touch lingered
Long after the departure
You evaporated into stillness
Of nights long ago gone
Like a guilty mistress
No longer here do you belong
