Valentine’s Day

written by: Ricky Hawthorne

@searsjames

Chelmsford Railway station
Downline

Opposite, Upline
Shivering bodies
Self-compile in clusters
Along the pallid dais

Default locations
For uploading
Onto frosty City trains
Ice to Ice

Foresighted-less
This preset few
This band of breathers
Esprit de corpses

The 05:58 arrives and
The platform un-clots
Replaced in moments by tickets
For the 06:10

If ever our hearts had
Been as regimented
This rose would be on the 06:25
And its perfume on the 06:40
