Disembodied feet trudge heavily, asleep & aching,
over a thousand steps repeated.
A far away fiddle stops such pedestrian rumination as well as my heart.
I fall in line with a chant of live worship;
blood pounding me back into my soles.
Blue veins re-knit together.
I rejoin the chocolate earth lathered
in tupelo honey whispers and cigarette smoke
as sea spray stained fingers untangle my curls.
