Offend

One day an atheist stated
Your prayer is not my belief.
In order to not offend prayer was
Locked away like a thief.
A friend wished another
A Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday.
The friend says this offends
And is not my religions way!
A husband and wife,
Publicly kiss good bye,
A stranger informs them,
This is offending to his eye!
You stand up proudly
For what you believe,
Then, ordered to sit because
You stand only to offend and deceive!
I say this land
Is the land of the free!
Your choices are not mine,
So let me be!
Take a moment to
Think, hear, and see,
Do your actions or words,
Offend somebody?
Will you stop performing,
That which you’ve always done,
Because your beliefs,
Are offending someone?
NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:
This poem is not meant to offend anyone and if it did then all I can say is oh well. It’s not that I don’t care but it is my God given right to be who I want to be not who you are. I say if you want to wish me a Happy Hanukkah, Happy Holidays, or whatever your belief than that is your right just as it is mine to say Merry Christmas. If you choose to believe in a certain thing then do not condemn me if my beliefs are not the same. John 3:17 clearly states For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. We as humans are not put on this earth to condemn or judge and I see those two very things happening each and every day. The more this happens the more the government see’s chances to take our rights away until some point in time we will have no say in what our rights or choices are. So quit worrying about being offended or offending someone and hold tight to your beliefs.
