Hope dances,
In the breath between
Desire & despair
She trips the balance,
Delicately
Enticingly pirouetting
Between lie & love
Her ballet ribboned shoes
Tread tentatively,
Tiptoes & eggshells
Like fractured glass
In precarious dreams
She leads triumphantly
I accept in her tentativity
I endure her precariousness
Because I delight in her triumph
Or at least in the hope of it
I hope,
In hope –
Herself.
Delightedly.
Since 2012 I have written plays using Shakespeare's language and framework to create new adaptations of his work for a touring theatre company.
