Hug Knows

I know we love each other.
It’s all in the hug
(squeezing in the casual
oblivious,
hello)
in that extra time spent,
touching base
Saying,
what we can’t with words
if only for a second,
-half a second- our cheeks linger
staying,
stretching
Pain,
lest we forget it.
In and out of Gates of doors of transit
Our platform,
our unattended baggage
seen to
-for the briefest second-
in a hug,
until
we Scar,
like
Landscape
Streambeds,
ever divergent
Divorced.
Not in vain, the river flows
our body knows
to Age,
let the children
absorb, in the banks,
as scattered wishes
seeding, colourful memories
Love is as Simple
as Hungry,
as Tired,
Love is as Simple
as that which gets lost
like a piece of Lego,
Fucking hurts
it’s there or it isn’t,
you look for it until you find it
or you leave it, Leave it
you don’t want the thing anymore
whatever we built, we don’t want it,
hoover it up
into the vacuum, of Indifference
under the rug there is nothing
left
but a Hug
the Warmth, of your seat
the side you slept on,
the smile that opens unexpectedly
upon a memory,
when you, Only You will do,
to tread upon those leaves with,
Cross the rain of sunbeams under the trees
and be Silent,
Separate Together,
on the riverbank,
the hug Knows
the Sinking in our tongues
Overboard,
Tossed
Love
