Banish

Banish

written by: Miya Yamanouchi

When you silenced my music
my heart sang.
A deafening anthem
declaring I am but secondary to The.
A roaring rhapsody
revealing your comfort
must always come first.
A melodious promise
that my desires
are valueless
in the presence
of You.

You, who has gifted me with a gown oh so heavenly,
a divine garment visible to you and to I alone,
attire summoning me on a virtuous vocation,
soaked in sweaty sinful exaltation.

Master, I pray you will rob me of my choices,
deny me the privilege to decide,
banish my smug self-importance,
and exile my insolent pride.
