A Little of The Manic

A Little of The Manic

written by: Steven Fortune

I’d trade my life of mellow
for a little of the manic
The coats of white are blinding
I need something more shamanic

I’d trade my gift of method
for placebos of prolific
This signature is taxing
and my trademark esoteric

I’d trade my skin of paper
for extremities of plastic
The old retorts are creasing
Sell me subtle, buy me spastic

I’m chained to barter’s impasse
yet no need is there to panic
Just audit my estate and
stamp it with a little manic
