CLOUD

Jenny flew into a cloud
And was never seen again
Now every time it starts to rain
I search for my old friend
A mystery inside the splash
Of every falling tear
Like times and tides and memories
Flash with passing years
I’m wasted in this field of flowers
Looking at the sky
Counting out the restless minutes
Slowly passing by
I wonder if you’re somewhere
In the heavens high above
Hidden in the mist which was
The substance of our love
Waiting for the rain to fall
Upon me like a shroud
Praying for the day
When you come out of your cloud
