Your red heels clicked, as you turned for home

Leaving me once again, tongue-tied and quite alone

Here on the hurting side of midnight,
wanting always to atone

Salty tears fall like rain, long since held feelings I cannot disown

Living a fantasy that you'll return to me, or one day phone
