Poem In My Shirt Pocket
written by: Mark Tulin
@Crow_writer
Thank you, Sara
for the poem
that I keep
in my shirt pocket.
It gives me comfort
to know that
you are only as far
as your words are close.
Your presence
is in the ink of your pen;
your heartbeat
in the rhythm of your verse.
Each line
spills softly over the page
like the smoothness of your face,
the cursive of your body.
Each stanza
stands wistfully alone
in the metaphor of your memory.
