Sacred Nature

written by: Moxie McMurder

Sacred trees hide secrets
Only the sky may know
With crows resting on each shoulder
Seasonal spectres guide me
Ghosts of summer past
Full of light
Give way to the dark

Fire in my fingers light the way
Bound by blood
My ancestors speak to me in whispers
Voices carried in the wind
Spilling secrets
That will set me free

I break a branch
I plant a seed
My tears water the soil
And in time the sun will breathe life
But now the cold and crisp air fills my lungs
And I sleep
