Shadows Of Grief
written by: LadyLily
I suffocate in liquid smog,
spirit strangled by hot iron weeds,
tongues of hell mither me.
Just a snuffed-out candle.
Leaves with sour hearts surround
as darkness yawns over a sickly sunset.
The night of old unfolds…
time and time again,
framed in shadows of grief,
speared by diluted rainbows.
A starless sky…
Dejected Moon, a pearl on a satin sheet
laments for a Comet’s sparkle.
Heaven…frosted with sleeping Swans.
Oh, how I weep, my loveliness stolen…
Soul punctured by demonstrations of evil
crayoned in my being.
Watered down screams echo,
an invisible mirror reflects murmurs
of who I am.
A never-ending witch hour,
I am Earthbound,
no fragrance of Freesias or frankincense incense,
only spiders, flinching like matchstick men.
Time struggles to create…
its existence stifled by ignorance.
Scars etch my skin,
each one danced with death.
bank my fires, a self to discover.
A Queen I am!
Dust, I eat no more,
dense hair turns to silk,
Spring to be tasted once again…
For I am not yet dead!
