Coral build their castles as we sleep
Giant sequoia amble toward the beach
Orion races past Omega through the night
When will this green be bright?

Bridie is just a wife, mother and grandmother who loves to write. She is a retired teacher and is also a busy photographer. She lives with her husband in the countryside in west Limerick. Her late dad was a popular and successful poet and author. She discovered that she had a flair for writing following retirement when life slowed down a little. She was encouraged by family members to develop this hidden gift. As grandchildren arrived she was inspired to write about experiences with them and has had articles and poems published in local newspapers and journals. She is working towards publishing a book of her writings in the near future.

ALBERT CAMUS’S – 'THE PLAGUE' - ITS RELEVANCE TODAY by GS Subbu

How relevant is the ‘The Plague’ to the present scenario we find ourselves in? It is really astounding that when you go through the book you realize that what is happening now is very similar to what has been described in graphic detail decades ago. Whether it is the fear psychosis, the measures taken to prevent the spread of the epidemic, the dedicated and tireless work of groups of individuals in taking care of the afflicted, the resistance to the imposition of stringent regulations by the authorities and lastly the realization that we have to move on but with a changed perspective and living a new life.
